Your first 5,600: you walk from 5,000 to the top. Privileged landscape of volcanoes and hills. Ideal gateway to high altitude trekking or ascent training. Cerro Toco is ideal for a first high altitude climbing experience: it has a fabulous view and an accessible walking surface. From San Pedro it is about 50 minutes to the first point, with an incredible view of the Licancabur Volcano, one of the most imposing volcanoes and respected by local culture. We walked a little to acclimatize to the 5,000 meters above sea level and from the slopes of the hill the climb lasts between 2 and 3 hours, reaching 5,600 m altitude at the summit. To take this tour it is important to be physically active, healthy and have gone through an acclimatization period. The agency provides safety equipment: satellite GPS, helmets, canes and clothing (optional).
