Active volcano whose open crater peeks out from the top. Breakfast at the foot of Laguna Lejía and ascent to 5,592 m. Requirement: recurring physical activity and good health. One of the most active volcanoes in San Pedro de Atacama: although Láscar requires prior acclimatization, the experience at altitude alongside the imposing volcanoes that surround it is unforgettable. From the town it is about 50 minutes to Laguna Lejía, at 4,000 meters above sea level, with a totally unique landscape and an incredible view of the Aguas Calientes Volcano, the Corona Dome and the Cerro Río Negro, among others. In about 20 more minutes we reach the slopes of Láscar, where the path connects and the ascent begins: the climb lasts between 2 and 3 hours to the 5,592 meters above sea level.
