We begin the tour at 8:30 am, picking you up at your accommodation or hotel right after breakfast. We will go towards the Catarpe Valley, a place that many people do not even know exists when they visit San Pedro de Atacama, it offers us a much quieter experience, allowing us to appreciate the landscape and walk calmly. For those more adventurous, the experience can also be done by bicycle (after consulting the seller). We recommend the bicycle for those who already have the habit of pedaling, since we will be at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level and the journey requires a little more physical effort. During the journey, we travel through labyrinths and natural canyons of clay and volcanic rock until we reach a viewpoint with a beautiful view of the Andes Mountains and the city of San Pedro de Atacama. After the walk and taking advantage of the beautiful nature of the place, we enjoyed lunch in the middle of the valley, and then continued towards the Rainbow Valley, known for its impressive geological formations of different colors, which create one of the most surprising landscapes in the town. The return is scheduled for approximately 16:00 pm.
During the day, temperatures are usually pleasant, but can drop in the late afternoon. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes for walking and carrying a warmer coat in your backpack for the return.
